Our History
Lenin Kailasammani founded Salem Stones in 2006, spurred by a desire to fill gaps he noticed within the industry.
To deliver on the vision, Lenin built relationships with suppliers domestically and internationally. Our first warehouse, and corporate office, is in Columbus, Ohio. A second warehouse in Elberton, Ga., has since expanded our inventory and shipping capabilities. And we have even more growth on the horizon.
During the recent pandemic, our industry faced unprecedented challenges with supply chain disruption. However, due to our commitment to stocking the industry’s largest inventory and the relationships we built over time with suppliers and freight forwarders, Salem Stones was able of ship record amounts of granite to our customers during this time. Early in 2022 we faced new challenges internally with scaling our capacity to handle the growth and increased volume. We worked diligently to make the necessary internal improvements and enhancements to handle the increased volume while building in additional capacity. In the 2nd half of the year we committed to “Forging Our Path Back to Normal” and are happy to say they we are back to pre-pandemic levels in most areas.
We continue to innovate and transform our industry to best serve our customers across the country, helping them better serve their families.
